Caprese Martini from “Neo Yokio”
It’s a gross as you think it’s going to be. I had to see what it would taste like! Click over to see the video for my full reaction. Recipe is posted below. Make with caution- in my experience this is a highly divisive drink. You either love it or hate it. I tested it on many of my friends- it seems like the people who liked it enjoyed savory things more than sweet things. If you don’t like savory drinks, this might not be for you.
However, it’s 100% worth it for the memes. I brought the leftovers to a friend’s wedding, and it really spiced up the festivities and made it super classy. It helped that he was wearing a midnight blue suit to his own wedding. And, you guessed it- the suit was *sparklin*.
Ingredients for the Caprese Martini:
-Vokda, 2-4 cups.
-1 lb of tomatoes
-10 basil leaves
-Basil leaves for garnish
To Make the Caprese Martini:
1. Quarter tomatoes. Pour vodka into another container, and add tomatoes and basil. Cover top with plastic wrap. Let sit in cool dark area for 5-7 days. After half a day to one full day, remove the basil.
2. After time has passed, strain tomatoes and basil out of vodka.
3. When ready to make, put ice into a shaker. Pour in infused vodka. Shake, and strain into a martini glass.
4. Garnish with basil and a mozzarella ball.
